One possibility might be to add a day-by-day countdown graphic (e.g. 10 days to go) on the homepage starting, say 30 days from the launch, to raise awareness (some linux distros have done this, e.g. Ubuntu, Fedora) Perhaps instead of get.OOo, something could be done with the existing download.OOo page or in conjunction with why.OOo?
