Happy new Year to everybody!
Thank you for your answers, I will get into more detail now so we can discuss the video contest idea. I think the first thing to do is to find out how important such a contest could be for OOo. Is there a real need for marketing material, like promotional videos? Could it be important to promote the contest itself among students and artists who might not know well OOo? Is there any topic that deserves more attention and promotion on OOo? I think that making clear if and how important such a contest could be, can help deciding what kind of efforts we should make. So let me know what you think.
Regards,
Rosana

Hello All,

I wanted to introduce myself to the OpenOffice.org marketing project. I will
be working at Sun until the end of April, also helping with the marketing
for OpenOffice.org. And I want to use the time to work with and in behalf of
the OpenOffice.org community.

I am very interested in Free and Open Source Software in general and have
been using OOo for years, recommending it to everybody. So I'm glad to have
the opportunity now to do the same in a bigger channel.

I have an idea I would like to share with you and put to discussion. I
thought it would be interesting to organize a video contest for OOo. Short
videos (30 secs) would show what OOo and its community are, and why the
project is so special. Young artists, students and creative community

That would be an awesome idea, I have been very interested in new
media and more internet campaigns for many years. I hope we can pull
something together. Right now our new media project OpenOffice.org TV
is a bit stalle. Althought I will push the new OOoCon videos. It would
be nice to have more "promotional" videos. We also had a OOo channel
which needs much help visibility wise.

If my current situation improve we will be producing original content for OOo.

members could create great material, from their different cultural
perspectives. That's just a very short description, I can send yo later some
detailed information about a possible organization. Let me know your
thoughts on this.

Please do.
I am looking forward to working with you and I hope I can give you a hand
here :)

cheers,
Rosana.
