I was working in Norway before 2008 and was terribly dissatisfied with MS Office, despite having been using it since the MS/DR DOS days. One week when I had a lot of work to get done using productivity software, but was getting grief from MSO, I decided to make a methodic search and evaluation of alternatives. OpenOffice.org was well enough known to me at the time that I knew to look for it, download it and try it. John, if you want more details about time, place, etc. contact me off list.
