Hello,
you recently applied for the observer role in the OpenOffice.org
Marketing
Project at http://marketing.openoffice.org, dedicated to marketing,
advertising and promoting OpenOffice.org - thank you very much for
showing
your interest and support! We would like to ask you to introduce
yourself to
our community, so other people know who you are and how you want to
contribute. It also helps you, because you get used to the way we work
and
to the people behind the project.
My name is Pablo, I live in Buenos Aires , Argentina, former founder of
Fedora Project Argentina (2006-2008 ) and other activities. Actually i
Hi Pablo, welcome to the project I am the Project Lead of OpenOffice.org
Spanish which takes the many nations of Latin America and Spain. I am glad
to meet you and welcome you into the community. You can find the project
at http://es.openoffice.org
leave
the "distro pushing" on my community live. I am web developer with
Joomla!
and Wordpress software, and talking in some time with other that promotes
OpenOffice.org, and taking two months to analyze the benefits of ODF
format,
technical and community related, i decide to start to give some classes
around OO.org in Buenos Aires city, but not all is money in this life,
and I
would like to start promoting OpenOffice.org for non profit activities,
as a
start in Buenos Aires, and make at least a similar work than Gustavo
Pacheco
is making on Brazil ( if i can make at least the 10% here, in
comparission
with Gustavo, but in Argentina) a lot of People wil benefit of Free
Software
movement.
I am interested in knowing what strategy are you planning for Argentina,
currnetly we have many members from there including Roman Gelbort,
Santiago Bosio and Ariel. Roman is listed as the MarCon (Marketing
Contact) and hopefully he will give you a quicker guide on the work we
doing across latin america.
Some videos made in 2007 about Fedora Project

My intention is give free talks whenever is possible to do that and
participate globally on give some ideas around marketing processes
improving
the capabilities of OO.org in all platforms specially reducing the
digital
break.
Also some of the marketing would be helpful to identify the events where
OOo could have a presence.
When u enter in a new community group, I believe that community effort
is a
"learning process", so my vision is share my experience and learn from
OO.org community new ways to spread the voice of Free Software.
Please help us by subscribing to [email protected]
mailing list. We can share ideas on how to best promote OpenOffice.org.
Please subscribe to our mailing list, [email protected], by
sending an empty e-mail to [email protected]. Once
you have confirmed your subscription, please send your introduction to
the
list, which is read by all members of the Marketing Project. Please also
copy me directly on that e-mail so I don't miss it, and don't forget to
mention your username. Shortly afterwards, we will grant you the
observer
role.
We look forward to working with you! Again, thank you very much for your
interest in OpenOffice.org! Should there be any questions, please don't
hesitate to ask them.
