I'm currently going to release the pdfimport extension 0.4. In the moment there is just a technical list of issues included in the release notes which describes which issue got fixed in the release.

Since the release notes will probably read by many people this is great chance to provide addtional information about the project and on how to participate and contribute to the project.

Can you send me a link to the release notes?

Indeed, not so exciting, ATM.

Do you know if any community feedback was involved in the new release, either by rising issues

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/buglist.cgi?issue_id=91980+92912+94952 is the query for the issue got integrated in the 0.4 release, but I think all issues are somehow reported by the OOo community. Additionally the xpf code got updated.

or by directly contributing code?

no, but it would be great if we get some more eyes on the code.

So the idea is: people download the extension, have a look at the release notes on the extensions-site, and read something there that might make them more enthusiastic to do some nice and useful work.
Good one.

So first try:
"Do you know that many fine and cool extensions as this one, are available because of people like you ? Many enthusiastic users and developers around the world do some work for their favourite items in OpenOffice.org. They write an extension, or translate it, help with testing ... Read more [here] and [there] "

Could be the start of a default boilerplate (does one use this word for that purpose?) or spot that can be linked...

Comments?
