Hello fellow marketing colleagues,
OpenOffice.org will exhibit at LinuxTag in Berlin which takes place at
the end of June and will have a dedicated OpenOffice.org track for one
or two days, like we had last year:
http://de.openoffice.org/linuxtag2008/
(German only, sorry...)
Many project members will travel there, so I intend to request some
funding for this event as well. I don't have an actual overview on the
numbers yet, and I do know that parts of the cost will be covered by
LinuxTag as well as by OpenOffice.org Deutschland e.V.
As I did with CeBIT, I'd love to "reserve" some money and release the
rest back to the project. (For CeBIT, we reserved 3.000 EUR and in the
end needed about 1.500).
Can I apply for 1.000 EUR from the marketing budget, which will be used
for travelling and lodging for the speakers and other booth volunteers?
What do you think?
LinuxTag is particularly important to us as it has a rather different
target audience from other trade shows. LinuxTag is a much less formal
trade show compared to CeBIT or Systems, a little bit like FOSDEM. Entry
is quite cheap, and it's all about community and development. As we want
to strengthen our community and get new developers, I consider it an
ideal platform for doing so.
What are your thoughts on that?
Thanks,
Florian
