Greetings,
Earlier this year a number of OpenOffice.org supporters discussed via
email the subject of a US or North America Regional conference. Those
efforts went into hibernation for a period :>)
The last few weeks another exchange of emails/IMs regarding misc.
upcoming events in the US and what possibilities may exist to promote
the application and community at those events has again broken out.
The following proposal has come out of the latest exchange:
That we assemble a North American 2010 calendar with events of interest
to individual community members.
Update and publish the Calendar to show which community members (with
their permission) are likely to attend which events.
The goal:
- promote face to face interactions between community members
- recognize and exploit opportunities for OpenOffice.org to have a
presence at local and regional events of interest throughout the year
We would like to hold an on-line Kick-off meeting utilizing the freenode
irc channel nlooo and invite anyone interested in helping with this
effort to attend.
The 2010 events calendar to be hosted on the wiki.
Tentative time for the irc meeting would be Tuesday, January 5th at 8 pm
EST (5 pm Pacific time)
