I like it. I do not see it as a replacement for a full install of
OpenOffice.org on a personal computer. Many will want that option to
work offline.

Google Chrome, PrestoMyPC (XANDROS), and ASUS instant on motherboards
(access to the web on bootup), are all driving cloud computing.

I use Prestomypc on a Vista 7 box. If I need ten second access to the
internet, I boot to it and get on the web fast. Google Mail and Google
Apps lets me view my cloud items and I can edit, share and print.

Google Apps is pretty good with accessing documents, spreadsheets, and
presentations. However, there is a vacuum for the business and
professional community that needs a full-fledged, state of the art
package like OpenOffice.org.

This suggestion presents a solid alternative to the business community.
Cost is minimal for a business/professional person. It also provides
some of the SharePoint features.

First one to market with this type of solution sets the momentum and
standard. Microsoft is working on their on-line office package, too.

Dear all,

+1 for online application of OO. Syncing and work away from workplace
will be the future trend in many profession. I personally carry a
liveUSB around should i in need of working away from my computer, and
needed programs that might not include in a normal shared PC.By moving a
program online, users would only need a working internet connection to
continue their work. This might not sounds as convincing for the OO to
move online since any computer should have office suite in it, yet it
would still have other benefits.

By no means should we eliminate the option of a Cd, but it is also clear
that OO will have more exposure to many users our there if there is a
online version. It can serve as a really quick and no frills trial for
interested users and a really useful tool for those in need.

Regards,
Colin Ng.
