I would guess because journalists, or at least editors, are required to plant the nasty M-word everywhere to take some of the thunder out of successful technology or innovators. Even the Wikipedia article about Steve Jobs ends up looking, from the photos, like it's about a primary antagonist. FWIW, when someone uses MSO, that reduces *your* ability to choose. But that's a different, old discussion. On Mon, 2010-03-15 at 08:55 +0100, Juergen Schmidt wrote: > eWEEK’s Top 25 Technologies Of The Decade > 15. Openoffice.org ... The skewed and kind of weird selection of specific items (e.g. VMWare over others, AMD64 over others, etc), makes it really big news that OOo got on the list. We were looking for material for the press release for the March 31st observance of Document Freedom Day. This item or at least the impact that OOo has on opening up office formats is worth mentioning. Many of the gripes and costs pertaining to productivity software are resolved by using a universal office format. /Lars --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [email protected] For additional commands, e-mail: [email protected]
