How would you recommend combining the new logo with two items of text?
a. 'www.openoffice.org'
b. some variation of 10th anniversary 2000 - 2010
I would think of the logo in the middle, "Tenth anniversary: 2000 -
2010" bent at the top and "http://www.openoffice.org" bent at the base
of the disk.
I did a draft using the disc (changed color) from Rosana's link:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/File:Flying_disc_proposal.png
At the right and left we could add the gull orb, if this fits visually.
I think this kind of disc looks good, but in my opinion it doesn't work
as well as the gull symbol designs for the idea of making an
"anniversary photo album". If you read the proposal on the wiki it is
about passing it through and making photos of it, all over the world.
The symbol hast the advantage, that you can recognize it from far away,
it uses the round form and is more catchy. I think if we want to include
the logo and a sentence talking about the 10 years other giveaways could
do the job. The disc aren't the real marketing campaign, the real
marketing campaign are the photos made with them. That's why I think
that having a very clear symbol that fits perfectly in the form is the
best alternative.

Rosana
