Thanks so much for such detailed report. Usually when you developed something, the heuristic is completely our in your tests. That why the feedback from users and new potential developers is so welcomed ;-)

I think we should discuss in detail the issue you pointed. I created MARMOTTA-377 as an umbrella task for this:

I think Thomas is who should take a look to this, but from my point of view:

  * all usability catastrophes MUST be fixed
  * all major problems SHALL be fixed
  * all minor problems SHOULD be fixed
  * all cosmetic problems MAY be fixed

I'd recommend to create issues in jira for each group, or even each problem. What do you think?

I agree with your categorization of the severity rankings.

I think you can merge a few problems (such as missing contents) but basically i'd recommend to create an issue for every usability catastrophe and major problem at least.
