That is correct for RDF-1.1 N-Triples. Unfortunately, there was a decision made
a when RDF-1.0 was published to just reuse text/plain for the RDF-1.0 Test
Cases Format (commonly known as N-Triples or, now, RDF-1.0 N-Triples), and that
is what has been in all of the Sesame-2.x versions until 2.8 where it changes
to support RDF-1.1 N-Triples.
