Switching our admin ui markup to something more widespread such as
bootstrap will potentially allow us to reuse so much stuff already out
there; and, in fact, something much more powerful than what we currently
have

Thomas Kurz is the member of the team in charge of such aspect in the
project; please, coordinate with him. If you could send us a static
page, I'm pretty sure Thomas could easily translate it into Freemarker.
