Its been reported before. We need versioned file consistency and JAR/EAR are there now, but WAR is not. It needs to include the version and, to appease those people who are not willing to deploy their WAR by setting the context path in their servlet engine, allow people to specify the filename. The standard ought to be consistency in naming schemes.
