No patches added since Michal Maczka has said several times on the mailing list that
he has enabled this in the past and backed it out due to complaints by others. The
consensus now seems to be that we should have consistency in naming hence I am
assuming that Michal or some other developer still has the necessary changes to put
this back in.

Key: MAVEN-583
Summary: WAR File naming inconsistency
Type: Bug
Status: Unassigned
Priority: Critical
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven
Fix Fors:
1.0-rc1
Versions:
1.0-beta-10

Environment: Linux 2.4.21
Description:
WAR file naming inconsistency. Its been reported before. We need versioned file
consistency and JAR/EAR are there now, but WAR is not. It needs to include the version
and, to appease those people who are not willing to deploy their WAR by setting the
context path in their servlet engine, allow people to specify the filename.
The standard ought to be consistency in naming schemes. People have submitted patches
for this also.
