Key: MAVEN-153
Summary: Wizard plugin breaks maven on headless linux servers
Type: Bug
Status: Unassigned
Priority: Critical
Time Spent: Unknown
Remaining: Unknown
Project: maven
Fix Fors:
1.1
Versions:
1.0-beta-8
Assignee:
Reporter: Lance Weber
Created: Wed, 20 Nov 2002 1:56 PM
Updated: Mon, 4 Aug 2003 11:37 AM
Environment: headless linux server, RH8.0, jdk 1.4.1
Description:
Invoking any "maven <goal>" on a headless server (RH8.0, JDK 1.4.1) throws an
"UnsastisfiedLinkException" when attempting to load the Wizard plugin as it tries to
find non-existent X Windows libs. This error occurs even if the maven script is hacked
to include the "-Djava.awt.headless=true" system property in $MAVEN_OPTS.
Workaround: Deleting the entire Wizard plugin resolves this issue.
Suggested Fix: Maven plugins that require the graphics environment should fail
gracefully on headless servers.
