I think that the files i provided for MAVEN-525 do exactly what you
want. it defines a taglib which declares among others a tag that adds
project nature and project builder to .project using jelly:xml. perhpas
it may help.

Given that maven projects typically have Checkstyle run on them, it would seem
reasonable for the Eclipse plug-in to generate projects for Eclipse that enable Atlas
Software's Eclipse Checkstyle plugin (http://www.atlas-sw.com/).
