Here is an overview of the issue:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
        Key: MAVEN-1060
Summary: misplaced text in xdocs should be reported
       Type: Improvement

     Status: Unassigned
   Priority: Major

 Original Estimate: Unknown
 Time Spent: Unknown
  Remaining: Unknown

    Project: maven
 Components:
             plugin-xdoc
   Versions:
             1.0-rc2

   Assignee:
   Reporter: Ramon Casha

    Created: Sat, 29 Nov 2003 10:04 AM
    Updated: Sat, 29 Nov 2003 10:04 AM

Description:
If some text or tag in an xdoc is placed outside the correct place, it is silently
skipped. eg: if some documentation text is inadvertently placed outside a section tag,
it will simply disappear. Ideally this should be reported as a warning/error by the
plugin, but a quick workaround might be to add a "catch-all" xsl tag which highlights
the text in question at the end of a page.
