I have written a comment on exactly that.
That you should check the used include/exclude rule in your descriptor:
groupId:artifactId:type[:classifier]:version
http://maven.apache.org/plugins/maven-assembly-plugin/assembly.html#class_moduleSet
From my point of view it looks like a usage issue ...if you could give
a feedback if you checked what i suggested ?
