It looks like calling with "-XX:MaxPermSize=128m" causes JDK9 to die.

Should this actually crash and die, or should it just log the
"Unrecognised option" warning, and continue running? Fast fail is
nice, but not much if you're jumping between VMs.
Permanent Generation feature has been removed.
