For me the descriptor was always useless. Do you Karl, Michael mean that this cofiguration does not work? <archive <http://maven.apache.org/shared/maven-archiver/index.html#class_archive>> <addMavenDescriptor/> You did not mention Jira # in maven-source-plugin.
