Well, in principle I don't mind, where they are located, but I don't think it is a good idea to have multiple solutions. Now, since there is already an 'sources' artifact type, that is obviously used by someone/something, why introduce again something else? For me it boils down to the question: Where is a definition of the Maven repo structure and a documentation, what is expected to be located where and which plugins make use of which elements in this structure?
