Hi Apache Maven Team,
we at Tycho [1] have a core-extension that would likes to extend how CI
Friendly Versions [2] currently works to supply the user with some
automatic derived values for some of the variables.
Currently the handling for this is hard wired into maven.
I have created a MNG-7407[3] for this already and provided a PR for the
3.8.x [4] branch but could also provide one for maven4 if desired.
As the new Maven 3.8.5 release is approaching we'd kindly like to ask if
it would be possible to include this patch already their as this would
improve the user-experience and overall workflow for tycho users.
