Actually - I noticed this at the end of my build ( which was still successful ): [WARNING] Plugin validation issues were detected in 34 plugin(s) [WARNING] [WARNING] * org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-assembly-plugin:3.4.0 [WARNING] * org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-surefire-plugin:2.20 Looking at the verbose output I see a lot of internal maven plugins that need work - I see this is from MNG-7767 (tone down plugin validation report ), but I never saw it before in 3.9.1 so wondering when this came in? There doesn't seem to be any mention of the report in the 3.9.2 release notes? --- "The ease with which a change can be implemented has no relevance at all to whether it is the right change for the (Java) Platform for all time." — Mark Reinhold.
