Hi all,

I assume most of you have already notified or contributed to the "Support &
Care for Apache Maven” initiative
(https://open-elements.com/support-care-maven/) that I started with several
members of the Maven community. We had many discussions about these topics and
the initiative's goals in Apache Slack, GitHub discussions
(https://github.com/OpenElements/maven-support-care/discussions), and the PMC
mailing list.

I’m happy to say that based on all those great discussions, we extracted 29
epics and finally sent the submission to apply for public funding from the
German government for Maven. A list of all epics can be found here:
https://github.com/OpenElements/maven-support-care/issues?q=is%3Aissue+is%3Aopen+label%3Aepic
Next to this mail, I will send an individual mail for each epic to this list
as discussed with PMC members. Sorry already for all the emails :D I locked all
the epic issues since they are part of our submission. Based on that you sadly
can not comment on the issues directly. Any discussions should happen on the
mailing list or by a GitHub discussion in the repo.

I plan to share the full submission (if allowed) once we have a final answer
regarding funding from the German gov.

If you want to contribute to any of the epics, please ping me to discuss how we
can add you as a person or company that could get funding to work on Maven.

Thanks,

Hendrik
