This is **NOT** true, though people keep repeating this. Java 8, 11, and 17 will be supported for some time to come. Oracle might stop supporting them. Oracle != Java. For example, Amazon has commited "to provide performance enhancements and security updates at no cost until at least the specified date for the relevant release version (e.g. December 2030 for Corretto 8)."
