the problem isn't really in Ant: they changed the classloader, it doesn't work the way
we use it. It's not a bug in the classloader, its just that it is completely different
and not backwards compatible.
It was once discussed on the Ant list and they were pretty emphatic that they won't
change the way the new classloader works for us (even though we never really suggested
that was necessary).
However, it would be great if we could get any help from them if we encounter any
issues, and I'd certainly ask around if that were the case.

attempt an upgrade to ant 1.6.2 in Maven 1.1.
Dependant on jelly working as the ant taglib may need modifcations.
As with Jelly, if this makes all backwards compatibility fall apart, then an
alternative solution will be found.
