I was thinking something along those lines too, though I've also found it hard
to find what I'm looking for by needing to navigate subtrees. I'll give it
another try.

I'd actually like the navigation to be for return visitors to get straight to
what they want (scrolling is less of an inconvenience than navigating submenus,
I think), but for new users to be able to traverse the whole site without ever
using it by following the last links on a page depending on what they want to do
next.

I'd appreciate folks reading over the "What is Maven" and "Maven for Ant users"
documents in particular to make sure I haven't shot off with my own vision :) A
lot of it came from the original home page/goals page and Ben's Ant guide, so it
should be a good mix.
