please list any additional things you'd like to look at here:
- release.properties and pom.xml.backup are not ignored by the status check
- model is read from a the project file (therefore no inheritence, etc), and
defaults values like groupId to o.a.m.plugins which is incorrect
- information fed back from release.properties may not be write (eg scm
username should come from scm section of POM, not 'maven.username' or prep
release configuration)
- release properties writing fails with NPE when no username (should default to
user.name)
