I've had a bit more of a think about it, and I like 31 - the colour in the opening paragraph is a bit strong for me in the others.
I'd like to look at alternatives for the Maven logo itself, but this is better than the current one ;) I wonder if we want (or maybe are obliged) to put the current Apache Maven Project banner on there. I would like to have it, but due to its size maybe it could be reduced and placed where the ApacheCon logo recently got evicted from? Anyway, +1 to moving on with this for starters. At the very least the CSS for the inpage design would be a big improvement. Does this mockup cover all the styles we need?
