Is it necessary to include install_repo.sh/install_repo.sh in the Maven
distribution, because Maven downloads the dependencies declared in these
scripts automatically when they are needed? This download only takes 2-3
minutes and is only done once.
Additional advantages for the Maven developers of not including these scripts:
- scripts do not have to be revised for every Maven release to verify whether
still up-to-date
- no more JIRA cases that are opened to indicate problems with these scripts
