This is definitely something that I'm interested in, I know that there are other similar tool to collect project statistics over time that we should poke and see if we can work together in some way. XRadar[1] is the only one that comes to mind right now. You're saying that we might have to wait for 2.1 to start doing this but I don't there's any need to wait if there are folks that's willing to start working on this. Did you propose to start a new Maven sub-project? I think that might be a good idea.
