I still not sure how useful it would be considering that it doesn't really make 
much sense to keep projects or models in memory since there are a good chance 
that they would be changed externally, so you would need to scratch it.

The only case it could be useful if you are implementing your own model editor, 
but there you may use your own model or something instead...
