As a side note: I noticed that you have already set the currentVersion
in the eclipse pom to the next snapshot version, even though work on
this one hasn't started yet (AFAIK). This means that running
announcement will generate an empty file again since there are no
changes in the current version.
I thought it would be better to leave the currentVersion at the value
where it was published as long as no new changes were made (that would
make it easier also to see fom the multichanges report, which plugins
need to be published still).

Fabrizio,
You are right, there was a bug with the recently introduced
maven.announcement.lenient property. I fixed it and re-published a
snapshot. Please test.

actually a -1:
I got some problems recently with the announcement plugin: using a
fresh copy from svn if I try generating an announcement for the
eclipse plugin I get:
plugins/trunk/eclipse
maven announcement
[echo] Generating announcement for release 1.10 in
/target/generated-xdocs/announcements/announcement-1.10.txt...
everything as expected, but the announcement-1.10.txt file doesn't
contain any change from changes.xml... the change list is empty.
Instead, it does work when called from the site:generate goal (by the
download report):
http://maven.apache.org/maven-1.x/reference/plugins/eclipse/announcements/announcement-1.10.txt
Can anybody confirm the problem?

Hi,
The announcement plugin has zero issues open and, together with the
changes plugin, I think it's ready for release.
