Hi, This is a new feature, so I think it's a good idea to vote on these things.
It adds @since to the plugin descriptor and reads it from the javadoc of a plugin. It's mostly for informational purposes at the moment.
Note that we have already ported the @parameter implementation="" to the branch so it might be best to align these.
