Next Maven 1.x using the new central repository

Hi,

Maven 1.x devs when are you planning on doing the next 1.x release? I  
was wondering if you could change the property for the central  
repository over to repo1.maven.org so that the next 1.x release can  
use the new central repository by default. Any chance you could  
change this in trunk and try it out?
