Relocation is, I presume, a hack? Would it be possible to put the relocation in the maven-metadata.xml and not make it something that is done for every release. I'm thinking maybe of:
<synonyms> <synonym>org.apache.commons</synonym> </synonyms> Or maybe it would support both groupId and artifactId.
