The vote passed (phew !!) with 7 binding votes (Jason, Carlos, Stephane, Brett, Emmanuel, Lukas, and myself) and 1 non-binding (Jeff). I'm preparing the release and I'll announce it tomorrow.

If in the future I need to fix/release something for my job, I'll do it, but do not consider me as the release manager for maven 1.X.
