I have just checked in a site for this plugin, and published it as well.
Please have a look at it and report any mistakes:

I also added some INFO level logging to let the user know what is going
on. After that a new SNAPSHOT was deployed.
Thing left to do:
1. Decide what to do with the dependencies on wagon. They are currently
set to 1.0-rc1-SNAPSHOT. So either we push for that version of wagon to
be released, or we go back to the previous version (1.0-beta-2?).
Please add more things that you can think of...
