Hello,
First be sure I've lot's of respect for maven developpers and the work they
offer to the community.
I'm just curious about WHY there is so fiew releases of maven plugins, even
when there is JIRA issues with patches avilable or SNAPSHOTS solving them.
The hudson project uses to publish releases very often, including fiew
fixes. This is really usefull for users as they can get a fixed release
quickly. Is there any reason maven plugins donesn't do the same ? The
release plugin itself ensure the POM makes no reference to SNAPSHOT, so
using them to fix an issue can only be temporary .
Nico.
Hi Nicolas
I don't know how they work over at the Hudson project, but I try my best
to get releases out for the plugins who's code base I feel comfortable
with. As of late, a lot of time has gone into Doxia, which is a key
ingredient in the reporting plugins. It is now nearing completion and
you can expect to see many report plugins released over the coming
months. First up is the site plugin.
The sheer volume of open issues [1] makes it somewhat hard to know where
to start. We have created some swizzle scripts that helps us wade
through all the issues and find out which issues are important to the
community.
If you have ideas on how we can do this better, we're all ears.
