I've been happy with clirr when I've used it, and the check and
report are pretty easy to set up. I've used it in maven-core before
using this: http://mojo.codehaus.org/clirr-maven-plugin/examples/

It might need an enhancement to be able to deal with the uber jar
since, IIRC, that's an attached artifact instead of the primary one.
I would like to set this up to catch anything.
