I think, ideally, we could turn on "deploy" and set the snapshot
repository to something on the zone (and later sync those to
people.apache.org)? This is what we are setting up for vmbuild.
With that, we could probably symlink to the correct WAR/appserver
snapshot directories as a place to get unofficial binary builds?

Maybe we can continue here http://maven.zones.apache.org/~continuum/

We can add a profile (nightly-build ?) in the poms (webapp and
plexus-runtime) which simply copy the war and the distrib (tar.gz)
to the directory and set this profile in the buildDefinition on the
Continuum instance in maven zone ?

yes, we can turn off it, but it would be good to deploy the
assemblies somewhere (in a snapshot repo?) so users/testers will
can use them.
About the nightly build, I think we should run it until the the
beta-3 update so we'll can run a fresh build every nights.
