I'd like to propose giving commit access to Paul Gier.
He's been instrumental in the recent push to release the assembly plugin, and I see his work (debugging some issues, patches for other issues) all over JIRA. Not to mention he's pretty active on IRC, and he's helping people out on the users list as well.
IMO, we need more people as involved as Paul has been, to keep Maven humming along.
