I'm fine with enabling Maven to make use of that, but I've experienced firsthand the limitations of using external APIs for core Maven logic without the option to swap them out. I'm personally not willing to work on something that increases our dependency on software we can't influence for core Maven logic.

I'm still interested in the build-tool space, but I don't want to work on something that has externally-imposed architectural limitations that we can't escape.
