The truth of the matter is that the only way to get a reliable timeline is if you make the fix yourself and give us a patch.
Codehaus JIRA is not currently available, so I can't check to see if there's a complete test case attached to the JIRA, which would improve the likelihood that one of us chickens would attempt to address it.
