I think it is fine to want to have (what will most likely be trivial) tests of the release process. But you can't reasonably (read: having logical consistency) vote -1 on releases, e.g. I believe on testing harness, and just in general, and then +1 mandating releases before moving everything over. It comes across as conflicted, and frankly speaking, anti-change.
