You'll also note it is based on Sonatype Aether. The new implementation I have is based on Eclipse Aether and will be in Aether because there's nothing Maven specific about it. It can certainly be integrated but currently none of the connectors available actually take advantage of what it provides. Code in connectors become radically simplified while using the concurrent safe repository implementation. So put it on the roadmap if you're interested, but I would slot it in with 3.1.1 when we integrate Eclipse Aether as that's what any implementation will be based on whether we decide to consume it from Aether, or not. Though really I don't see much point in not consuming it from Aether as it has been running everyday in production for over 2 years.
