That shipping multiple implementations means we have to support them for no 
particular reason. I think that setup is fairly convoluted for users, and still 
we have really determined it's really of any use to the average user. 
Downloading some things and placing them in the ext/ directory for the odd time 
someone is going to need it I think works perfectly fine.

We should pick one implementation by default like we do with anything else. 
Logging is not special.
