It seems that a Raven would be better. It even rhymes with Maven, in English. They have a lot of significance to many different cultures, with themes ranging from wisdom, to good luck, to even blood thirsty birds of battle preferred by warriors. And given this cultural history, there exists a large corpus of artistic material to inspire or choose.
