FWIW I explicitly call out now in the spec ~= what is done in thrift.
install-exec-hook:
$(PYTHON) setup.py install --root=$(DESTDIR) --prefix=$(PY_PREFIX)
$(PYTHON_SETUPUTIL_ARGS)
I may circle back to address once I have the rest of the binding correctly
installing.
